Holy Giving is an ancient spiritual tradition. This idea is applauded in the Sanskrit literature and has been practiced by many spiritual institutions. In diverse cultures and languages similar ideas have been implemented. For example in German Himmlische Gābe directly embodies holy giving. In the Sanskritic heritage Guru Daxina has been equated with holy giving. The understanding rests upon the experience that the blessing received through the holy giving cultivates wealth and enriches the giver. Holy Giving has been deemed important because of linking tangible gifting with intangible blessings.
This holy giving paradigm is beautifully inducted into Swamahiman’s legacy building model. Under this singular Swamahiman model, tangible gifting is linked with direct spiritual blessings through the growth and reinforcement of a special tree. The tree in this case is a very long living tree known as the Pīpal tree. A donor is invited to participate not just to receive blessings but to become a part of the tree by expressing a commitment at the Leaf, Branch or Root level. This participatory model allows for grassroots participation to build a legacy of holy giving which is the tree itself. And we say the seed is planted, the fruit shall bear the promise.
The Sanskrit name Sattwapathin was chosen to symbolize this participatory model, which translates into English as charitable paths converging to build the shelter of divine wealth.
More than a Campaign
Giving for the sake of giving is a profound tradition that invites abounding blessings from a divine entity or a spiritual lineage. There is now an opening for untold grace to be bestowed precisely because the process beholds no tangible reward to the giver. While faith in this process is said to be intangible, the grace is tangible and palpable over a period of time. This paradigm is part of our holy giving tree-of-life captured so beautifully in the converging paths of Sattwapathin.
Sattwapathin is a complementary model that allows any yearning soul to participate in receiving blessings from the Swamahiman entity and its lineages. It is a people’s movement that binds together a noble family sharing the intangible blessings linked through tangible gifting by the participants. Sattwapathin is bound to become a legendary campaign of goodness conferring abounding blessings to every genuine giver.
The Sattwapathin model of holy giving happens just once a year, from mid-October through mid-December. We welcome you to contact us to learn more about how you can participate.
